Brazilian steelmaker Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (CSN)’s mining division announced that its sales revenues totaled BRL1.3 billion in the fourth quarter of 2012, soaring by 39% from a quarter ago.

In 2012, CSN’s mining division realized sales revenues of BRL4.5 billion, falling by 23% year on year, caused by lower iron ore prices and drop in sales volumes.

Meanwhile, the sales of iron ore totaled 25.8 million tons in 2012, falling by 12% year on year.
